Why is gin the Christmas drink of choice in Australia?
In the spirit of Christmas, Australians have embraced gin not only for its taste but also for its ability to bring people together. Sharing a well-made gin cocktail becomes an experience that encourages conversations, laughter, and a sense of togetherness, embodying the spirit of the holiday season. Taste along with the Distiller
Turner Stillhouse Founder and Distiller Justin Turner is an American in Tasmania. Originally from Northern California Justin married a Tasmanian from a multi-generational farming family and has since cultivated an obsession with Tasmanian spirits and food. The family-owned and operated winery also produces brandy and other spirits – so distilling is in his blood and Three Cuts Gin is his leading brand.
In this Masterclass for 30 guests Justin will expertly take you through the history of the Turner Stillhouse distillery where you will learn firsthand how they produce their multi-award winning Three Cuts Gin. He will take you through a tasting of the range and explain how they differ and what makes them special.
Saturday 2nd December 3pm-4pm.

What you can expect at the festival

Meet the distillers and hear their stories. They are all passionate about their craft and they love to interact with their customers. You will learn some tricks of the trade and get some mini masterclasses in mixology.

Each tasting session is 3 hours. This gives you plenty of time to pace yourself and to taste as many gin flavours and brands as you can handle over the session without over doing it. Some gins are poured neat with no more than 10mL of gin although Long Rays mixers (Tonics and Sodas) and ice are available should you wish to add a mixer to your drink. So get your palate ready for a Christmas feast of gin.
